Watching practice from Aussieland. 5 minutes in and Lewis' car has already died on track, Vettels' is still in bits in the garage, and the ones that have made it out sound effing Horrid! Not a happy boy so far Cheers, Lee S.
The looks and the sound will grow on you. The turbo spins at 125k rpm, that's over 2k revs per second! It is a huge learning curve. I think they sound awesome:up:
The "waste" is sent to another recovery system which harvests the boost and stores the energy. http://www.formula1.com/inside_f1/understanding_the_sport/8763.html
Did anybody see the Jacques Villeneuve quote saying the Redbull team should stay home this weekend? Sunshine, their is an electric generator that constantly spins the turbo, even when the engine revs are down, it's all connected to the KERS, so no lag. Maybe is so efficient that there isn't any waste. Anybody know how the lap times compare?
That douche nugget should the fu*k up and stay home. I'm terrified of what damage he is going to cause in the indy 500 this year..
He's going back to Indy? I watched him go from 1 lap down to win that race. He plays "bumper cars" in the Nationwide series.
yep http://espn.go.com/racing/indycar/story/_/id/10521896/jacques-villeneuve-returning-indycars-500 I'm not saying he's not talented. i'm just saying he's an idiot..
I thought a waste gate is needed for when the turbo is making boost yet the engine doesn't need the pressure. So even with it hooked up to the kers system it would need to relieve the pressure going into the motor as the motor's rpm drops.
He surely doesn't have his father's discipline. Kurt Bush is doing the double duty, Indy/Charlotte for Andretti.
2x the cooling capacity of last year's cars is needed due to all the increased heat. One of these cars is going to spontaneously combust this season ehhh?
