Well, here's the whole story. It sounds like Hollywood.... http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/14.10/gizmondo.html
i have pics of me in the totalled enzo that is parked in a garage at miller motorsports. the one that the engine split from the car and had debis all over it. we snuck in and i got behind the wheel!
400 Built - 350 remain I wonder how many of the 400 Enzos built still are road worthy. I understand that Ferrari will rebuild these cars but holy shit!!!! It seems the owners have no problem separating every single nut, bolt and carbon thread that was hand assembled by Antonio and Ernesto. Todd
Can you imagine the phone call home....... Sheesh, I stress out when a deer hits my $1500 car. It's three race weekends lost if I have to buy a new one. Dawn
elvee: What a story! The last line is really quite amusing. Note: Its about a 15 minute read but it is worth it.
i own one of only 140 89saleenSSC's made. there are 90 left. i own one of 13 1997saleen Cobra's made. there are 8 left. imagine that there are statistically fewer enzo's.
Yeah? I own one of 27,676 2001 Dark Blue Ford Taurus Wagons built in 2000-2001 - and 26,545 are still on the road. I think the others are in museums somewhere. . .
Yeah, and just think, if you had all 140 + 13 of the originals, and sold them, you might have enough for a down payment on 1 of those 400 enzos!
Cherry red Ferrari? CHERRY RED FERRARI???????? Crash story is reminiscent of Dennis Barnhart, who wasn't quite as lucky.
Here's some more info on that crazy Swede: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stefan_Eriksson He entered the LeMans 24-hour race once, and he sponsored the Jordan F1 team, so at least he's a racing fan of sort.
Read the article. A company that he was associated with, which was a crock, signed a sponsorship agreement with the Jordan F1 team, then never wrote the checks. They were taken to court and forced to pay. Like I said, this story should be a Hollywood script.
I find the story interesting, even more interesting to me is who his lawyer is "Jim Parkman" He has a few offices around the U.S. But he's based out of B'ham.. and was one of Richard Scrushy's lawyers (Healthsouth).
This is pretty cool. Papa, some of these roads looks pretty familiar, eh? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RH7Ca4gUp4
