Thanks, wouldn't want to spend all the money and have to remove it. :(

Yeah, I'll allow quick change endurance stuff on SS spec bikes occasionally but probably wouldn't as an all time thing - not sure why other than I feel like I'm missing it being some sort of advantage :D

VERY COOL of you to do. Thanks.

I think very few people realize how many difficult, skilled, bloody hours are involved in making something like this that actually works.

Seriously appreciate the pics, it is cool to see. Most of all appreciate you trying to help enable others, thats pretty cool. That GSXR gas tank came out really really nice. Love the rounded and smoothed front-half that was made from scratch.

We ended up making them for clients at my shop over the past few years, just because of how difficult it was to find anybody who was available. Like you said, it takes so much time, that you can only do a few tanks.
I install dry-break rings and dry-breaks, and it does get really tough to hear about "how much it costs!!!". For the current tank I'm working on for Daytona, we ended up telling the client to supply 100% of the parts, and it is amazing to see how much less we have to charge :)

This was the first attempt at an '09+ GSXR 1000.

I'd love to try and make the front half like Britt did, that looked really nice, and looks like it is just a really clean, strong finished product. Britt, did you do that with the bike there? Or just take measurements for the front mount?

Don't have a ton of great pics, but here's the best I got.

wow, thats some metal fabrication right there, when you have english wheel rounded sheet metal and fabricated pieces with minimal filler, thats a work of art

Britt, what tool do you use for making your lap joints? I want to buy a hand operated joggling tool, not a bench mount.

Latest victim: just added a quick fill and patched one side of the damaged tank with a panel from another.

I kind of already know the answer to this but... why two quick fill receivers in the tank. I've been watching some of the other teams during endurance races and the ones using dump cans with red-head probe seem to fill at an average rate of about 8 seconds.

One of these days I'm going to build a tank or two for the endurance bikes.

That was actually already asked in this thread. The fuel goes in on one side and the air from the tank escapes out the other side, preventing any airlocking. I can to about 7-7.5 gallons in no more than 8 seconds.

Look back in the thread a little and find the video I linked to.

    Thanks

Obviously I have not read the whole thread. Will go back and do some research. Glad it got resurrected.
