https://fox6now.com/2020/02/13/wisconsin-eyes-expanding-bar-hours-for-democratic-convention/ So, why do WI bars need to stay open longer just because the DNC is in town? Why hasn't any other state, national or international event to date had this same consideration? Like any of the PGA events, Packers/Bears on Monday Night Football, deer hunting season, February, Summerfest, EAA?????
Follow the money.... Those legislators are in the pockets of the Tavern League and the WRA. Push this through and you get a campaign contribution. Real simple. THIS is what a quid pro quo looks like folks.
The conventions are basically huge parties, why wouldn't they want to sell more and what does the party affiliation matter?
Why does the gubmint get to say you have to close at a certain time anyway? If there is a market and a pub/bar/tavern/club wants to be open 24 hours, shouldn't it be allowed? Not picking on WI specifically, the law is damn near everywhere. Imagine a bill that said online retailers or social media companies had to close at 2:30 am. I mean the world would be a better place, but the outcry would be immense.
Interesting question Brex...so check this out: https://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/otptf/why_do_bars_close_at_2_am/ fewer fights.....kinda makes a point. I believe many States have times when you can and cannot sell alcohol. Probably goes to giving people a little time to sober up for their next bender, maybe?
Yeah, there are time/day laws around buying alcohol. Even entire counties in the south where you can't buy it period. I just don't think it's something the government needs to be involved in. Total derailment of the thread - but I guess it is a tradition here. And I don't drink. Don't care to, drunks are morons.
Pelosi has NO problem getting loaded on the John Q. Public's dollars. https://www.businessinsider.com/nancy-pelosis-in-flight-food-and-drink-costs-101000-2010-1 And I say BS this isn't baseless. You think Queen Nancy isn't going to travel in style?
Democrats also want $50 million for convention security. Wouldn't about $20 worth of "Gun free zone" signs suffice?
The pic they posted is a couple hundred dollars of liquor, and it looks like whole bottles at grocery store prices. On top of it, the name and all the personal info is blurred out. I don't even like nancy, but it sounds like conspiracy theory bullshit to me, unless they are actually able to back it up with real data.
That's what they want you to believe. They cited Worldnetdaily, not the Air force. If you believe worldnetdaily is legit, make sure to check out the post 911 article by LoBaido and other conspiracy theory crap. Fine journalism there. LOL.
