Just wondered when the contingency page was going to be updated. Are we going to have Ram Racewares, Pit Bull, EBC, Vesrah, Silkolene, Pro-Tek, etc. contingency $ available this season? Just curious as the page hasn't been updated since January. TIA
EBC and Silkole yes, I'll get the latest up Monday. Pitbull yes but no details yet - same for Michelin, Suzuki, and Vesrah, they are all doing something but no details yet (c'mon everyone knows that there is no racing before Daytona!). No Pro-Tek, haven't heard anything from RAM but I'll call them next week.
Just checked updated contingency list. It's a nice one - provided you're running in the 750/600 classes...... So when are some of these guys (not to name any names) going to realize that those of us in the smaller bike classes (Form2, Twins, D Super, clubman, etc) also use their products and would love a chance at competing for some of the contingencies. My thanks to those maufacturers who _do_ support us in the lightweight classes - how about the rest of you....????
Whatsamatta you? Aprilia is after all putting money in D Super Expert I think part of the problem is the number of riders in the LW classes combined with the LW bikes not going through products as quickly as the bigger bikes. We do keep trying to get more for all classes though...
I don't think that statement is correct. I have ran both classes to start with, so I think have a good perspective. With my 600 I changed oil 3 weekends, tires every other, brake pads maybe once a year. Now with my 400 I change the oil every 2 weekends, tires every other, and brake pads maybe every 2 seasons. Now as you can see I have increased the usage of oil and the tires have stayed the same. Now the pads aren't really worth mentioning. Also the LW grids have seem to alot of participants. Usually the only group that is bigger is the novice big bore. So I can't understand why they wouldn't put some contingency.
Sorry, I wasn't clear enough - they go off of a perceived amount of use rather than any real numbers. Most of them just assume the LW bikes use less product. Of course the brake manufacturers do care about how often you change the pads and they are one of the main people who bring up LW usage. Most though use the total number of riders excuse. Don't get me wrong - I don't agree with them, I'm just letting you guys know what they tell us their motivations are. Of course their main motivation for any of this is to make money and they want to spend as little actual money on a contingency as possible while still increasing sales.
