Were you not supporting the narrative made about income disparity???? Cuz that's what it sounded like to me, hence why I wrote what I wrote.
Agreed. It’s pretty useless trying to apply 20th century moral philosophies to this type of world. In 100 years our descendants will be post-human and society post-singularity. Basic needs are likely to be post-scarcity as well. We have no real clue how post scarcity economics will work. (Though we could argue information and some things already exist in a post scarcity state). In 200 years we’ll probably be post-biological and immortal anyway. Thereafter, man will disappear and we will become our technology.
If I had to bet I think society will melt down and slide in to anarchy before we reach utopia. People suck too much to get along that good together.
Again you're assuming that SAME ass isn't the one picking YOU up after a long sweaty day on that tractor.
Every farmer I know is too exhausted at the end of the day to do more than crack a beer in front of the tv and pass out.
I don’t think there will be a utopia at all. Just a natural replacement of humans by superior life forms, that is, AI and trans humans, and then virtualized humans. It’ll probably be as violent, ugly and nasty as the current world, just bigger and badder with new nastiness. Human meat bags aren’t well suited to long term survival in the universe, and so simply won’t survive. On a multi century timeline, there isn’t a chance in hell meat bag humans persist as the dominant life form unless we blast ourselves to the Stone Age first.
