Yes, get real garlic (get the little jars. The squeeze tubes will overgarlic), then Bing "Alton Brown + (whatever recipe you want)", then do what he say! He's not failed me yet.
grill it til the shrimps are half the size as before. then they are the crispiest. eat the garlic raw.
Off topic on topic there is a new eatery coming here called Skrimp Shack. They are a chain evidently. https://theskrimpshack.com/
Truth. I do go with other chefs just cuz on occasion but Altons stuff is always good. Also really like Kenji Lopez-Alt and his approach to it all. But seriously - bing?
That's what I said to my sister just a few weeks ago when she said that she was going to Bing something (she works for MS). I said, "Is that still a thing? I thought that Bing had gone the same way as Microsoft phones and dodo birds. "
I used to be a big garlic butter shrimp guy, but discovered p e a c h (not grapefruit) schnaps shrimp this summer and won't go back (unless it's all you can eat at the red lobster....). It's super easy, just cook them in schnaps, maybe with some pepper flakes for some heat. If you like p e a c h, you'll love them.
Bunch of beer, PBR is perfect, in a pot. Add garlic and salt. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and cook shrimp in it. Make cocktail sauce with ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, and some steak sauce. Remove shrimp from pot, peel, dip and eat. Butter goes on the baguette.
I do a quick shrimp and garlic on the grill when I want something easy for a party. Just get some jumbo shrimp, mince up a bunch of garlic, a LOT of butter and a LOT of fresh grated parmigiano reggiano and toss it all in a tin pan, squeeze some fresh lemon juice on top, cover and toss on the grill. Serve it in the tin with some real good crusty Italian bread.
I just got out of the shower and find out the wife's making us shrimp for dinner. She swears she wasn't but I think she was on here creeping on me. She says it's just that she knows me so well.
