Hire a dominatrix to come in with her naked "coffee table." I'm sure he'll be a desk.

Why glass? Are you hooked on Windex? No bigger pain in the ass than a glass top.
Shows every fleck of dust, every little smudge and fingerprint. Just plain fugly.

Sounds like he wants a hideous, non-functional item.

Ok, well I can get you a pic monday if you might be interested. Its pretty modern looking. Metal frame, L-shape with 2 large 'floating' glass tops. Located in Marietta.

Really? I was not aware of this rule. Now I guess it is one that is ignored.

Just needs that "distressed" look- I suggest an angle grinder and some acid (for the metal...or you)

This is what I did. My friend welded up box section aluminum and welded them to encase a file cabinet, one on each end. He then made a length of aluminum channel to span the two and it bolts to the encasement on each end and supports the glass, this can be made longer or shorter to give you the desired width. I had a glass shop take a pattern I made and temper it and add the holes in it to run wires. The aluminum box on the ground is a cover for the PC and battery backup and wires. All in it was around $350 and a case of beer. Sorry for the dust...

I like it. With the wires hidden more effectively, it would have been perfect !
