Reinstalling the cams on a 2007 CBR600rr motor. Motor is out of the bike. Seems like its damn near impossible (or just a giant PITA) getting the chain on both sprockets, feels like the chain is too short.

CCT is out of the head. I don't recall this much difficulty when doing it on my old SV superbike. Am I missing something or am I just dain bramaged?

Make sure it isn't wadded up down at the crank sprocket.

That's my thoughts as well. Usually a nice little "V" of extra links hanging out in the breeze.

I'll check that when I get home. Should have thought of that, must have been huffing brake clean or something.

Tensioner out. Took side cover off, didnt see Anything.

Held up the chain with tension, rotated engine with the head off, nothing.

Finally when rotating looked down and on the exit side of the crank sprocket the chain was off just enough to be a bitch.

    Got it sorted now!

How did you align the cams after reinstalling? Do you have a tool to rotate them or? I cant do it by hand to get the timing correct..

Get the cams in the right spot, then install cam caps
