It's pretty cut and dry. Not sure why people have trouble understanding it.

 

And that's exactly why the 2A exists...to inform people that there's no question about what is meant when they said these rights are inalienable. The 9A points to reason for even having to mention the first 8. People were just as stupid then and the Founders were smart enough to know our natural rights had to be put into words so as to quell any misunderstanding.
Frankly, I don't think they imagined people would get dumber, but here we are.

Anyone who gets a DUI in today’s society is a fucking dumbass. With the availability of Uber and Lyft, there’s really no excuse. If you can’t figure out how to get a ride, maybe you shouldn’t be driving. Rural areas- you might have a somewhat more plausible excuse.

 

So ... rich people can pretty much do whatever they want??

 

Same as poor people. Just don't hurt anyone or damage their property. Is that too much to ask of anybody? I mean, aside from being a complete idiot, how hard could it be?

Murder, 1st degree. You premeditated the possibility of killing someone by deciding to drink in excess prior to driving.
Now, had you made it home without incident, Bob's your uncle.

 

If you make it home then it would be attempted 1st degree by your logic.
