I love cali and all for the exit. I'm stationed in the NC and its by far the worst place I've ever been stationed within the continental US. I can't wait to get the hell out of the the south. To many nut cases out here. I can't wait to get back to the west coast

And, yep, the topography doesn't cause the pollution, but it sure concentrates it, at least in the LA Basin. Pretty amazing mountain views when the Santa Ana winds blow the crap up the coast to Santa Barbara. I imagine that's how it looked in the 20's.

Kind of surprised Phoenix wasn't on that list, they've been on the EPA shit list for years. Because of dust. You know, from the desert...

From what I understand, the topography has something to do with how pollution responds in the LA basin but, you're right, at the end of the day modern society causes the pollution.

 

Spend a winter day in any low lying small Alaska town. Then enjoy your soot lung. Its awful.
