Looks like it could be interesting. I was never a huge Queen fan but I do recognize their influence. Don't know much about their backstory so I wonder how accurate it will be to true life.
Not very. The band had to okay the story, so expect it to be a little more positive then real life might have been.
I know their story well- grew up a fan heavily influenced by my parents as a kid. I'll see the movie and report. The world has changed a little- nobody cares if you're gay or bisexual, but good luck to you singing lyrics in arabic with that particular meaning and expect to be played on radio anywhere in the Western world.
Mercury's personae made this band. I'm not even a fan, but I have to admit that guy had unrivaled talent and was the exact definition of what a frontman rock vocalist should be. He was just plain awesome !
I’ll see it. Search “Marc Martel queen” if you want to kill some time on YouTube. He provides some of the vocals for the movie, and toured with the queen extravaganza(?) or whichever one Brian May was behind.
Gary Graff, who is a music expert that has a radio spot locally here every Friday, saw it and hated it. He is pretty generous with his reviews too. He said there was zero character depth and the historical inaccuracies were too numerous to even count. He said the longer he was away from watching the movie the more he disliked it.
Definitely going to see it. Freddie was one of the best rock vocalists AND one of the best frontmen. Many are one or the other, but he was both. A tremendous talent. RIP Freddie.
No love for Brian May? His guitar tone is out of this world IMHO. That's it- I'm blasting some I want it all in the car later!
