Best of the West 2018!!!

So when Fritz was riding for Harley on the VR I think his AMA bio said 6'3" if I remember correctly. Many years later Fritz and Fred (dad) and me were talking at he GNF (Fritz was graying in the temples by then) and they laughed when they told me he was really 6'5" or maybe 6'6''. And fuck was he fast and absolutely killed at Road Atlanta!

 

Back around 91-ish I rode my only AMA national. I was running 35's on a 89 FZR600 and the Vance and Hines guys were doing 30's, as I recall. I was a novice that year and had just moved up, and was talked into trying it by Sadowski's brother. He worked at Huntington Beach Yamaha, where I bought some of my parts.

 

A 1:25.... on those old tires and bikes.... all I can say is wow.
