I come back from a good afternoon of lacrosse and some of you retards decide that since I'm not here you can go full retard? I'm now in a rotten mood and you'd better hope that I trip and fall down the stairs and break my neck and die 'cause your banning are gonna be epic. Dumbasses!
Pfft. Unless the sharks are Zombies with Chuck Norris beards riding Murder Hornets...Meh. Ill be at the bar.
Okay, PLL is on, I watched some hockey, iced my shoulder down and my fingers are not broken (fun day at lacrosse?). Don't push it too far, some came close but not over the edge now that I've read this thread a few times. I am a bit pissed, the "b" on my keyboard takes a few tries to work.
Website needs a math fact checker. 2750 tons is 5,500,00 pounds, not 55,000. So yeah, not 12 times bigger than the OKC bombing but 1,200 times.
Serious question though. Why store that much fertilizer in the desert? Is it used for more than ag in that quantity? Do they grow anything there?
It was off loaded off a ship that showed up in port that was deemed not sea worthy. Owners and everyone else involved walked away and abandoned it. They unloaded it because they thought it was unsafe to leave on the ship, seems like that wasn't the best choice.
I read somewhere that it destroyed 85% of the nations grain supply. If you mix all that grain dust with an explosion that could have made the explosion significantly worse. Grain dust is extremely dangerous and very prone to explosion. I feel for the people of Beirut.
Very long game plan if so... that stuff's been there since 2013. A very explosive chemical. 2750 tons of it. Stored next to a fireworks factory. I'm going to call it ineptitude & inevitability.
Yeah, it's been 7 years so I doubt it. A terror group could have known it was there and intentionally set it off though. It looks like there's some kind of fireworks going off in some of the videos. Or just a tragic accident. Can't be much left at the scene to investigate for clues.
This. The government there is just corrupt and inept and full of bureaucracy. Anyone who thinks they want to live in a libertarian dream world should probably just spend 6 months in Lebanon to understand what the reality of those stupid political ideals actually mean. https://www.fleetmon.com/maritime-news/2014/4194/crew-kept-hostages-floating-bomb-mv-rhosus-beirut/ there's a little bit of background.
