I drove an astro for work for a while, even got a speeding ticket in it. If you can handle vans, they are good. If you hate vans, you will hate astro's.
full size vans dont handle nearly as well though. the RWD astros basically have the monte carlo front end geometry. actually most of the parts interchange with them. back when I was working at Rd. Atl. and often had the track to myself I took mine around it a few times, they have a very predictable four wheel drift when empty and pushed hard if the tires are decent and set right, not sportscar like but much better than any other vans Ive driven. thats one of the reasons Ive kept mine so long. I really like the way they drive for what they are. and they are more comfortable on long trips to me than anything else Ive had.
