If you spend you're entire life being raised and bred to race by you're father,and have no skills,
then have a huge falling out ,I can see how he ended up in a tent.By skills I mean in the working world.
I use to race with a guy that was at one time ranked #6 in AMA 600 .His father got him there financially
he was very well off.They came to blows one day,and he was kicked out of the family.
He ended up living in a very bad apartment,painted for a living,and was very poor.
I won't name him here,but a lot of you will remember him.
Point Im making,he was use to his fathers financial support,and when he pissed off the ol man,he was destitute.
I don't think Kurtis is nuts,stubborn maybe.
I would never leave a family member in a tent,I would insist they sleep in Hospital waiting rooms like they do where my wife works,
its warm,has tv,and they legally won't kick you out.

 

All my serious issues have been diagnosed, so there.

 

Luckily some nice man put that race on Youtube.
It is a good one.

This was my thinking also. Even so, this guy has friends in the paddock. With his skills and knowledge there would be a place for him to work and make ends meet. May not be lavish but thats really the only option of the Pops cut off the faucet.

 

that first video has about 5 different points of sadness for me. From the loss of the good old days, to Dave, to Kurtis, just sad.

Kurtis is the only person I know who could walk up to airport security and say bomb and get away with it. He told the tsa i had a b o m b in my backpack as we were flying out from Indy. Somehow neither of us got arrested lol

Yes, they are everywhere. In Southern California most every bridge, overpass and viaduct has people living under it.
