Hey folks, So, track days have been giving me a lot of hip pain. I'm good for about half a day, and then the later sessions I can only run 3-4 laps before I have to pull in from the pain and I struggle to walk for a day or so after a track day. Decided to go to an ortho to see what was up, and it turns out I have an impingement in both of my hips from birth/bone development. This is not a shocker to me as my hip flexibility has always been brutally bad - I could never comfortably sit Indian-style for example. I had my MRI consult today and the MRI confirmed a cam-type impingement. Ortho is referring me to a specialist surgeon for a second opinion, but it looks like arthroscopy surgery will be necessary within the next year or so to avoid a hip replacement down the line. Has anyone had a hip arthroscopy done? How were the results - did it help with track-related pain or performance? Thanks in advance.
