They are good race bikes. Larry Pegram likes his, Eric Wood does pretty well on one. Ducati pays good contingency also.
In WERA it's a heavy weight twin. Problem with that class is that damn senior citizen that has laid claim to that class. Wouldn't be a bad bike at all if you can ride the wheels off of it.
i saw a guy last weekend run an 848 in all the twin class and spank everyone lol Its a nuce bike from what i have seen of it. The riders name was Mike Flitz i believe at Grattan on Aug.23-24
Think of the 848 as a really fast 600! The classes you can run are limited, but its very competitive. Did I mention that I sell them PM me if you want a quote:up:
yup, mike flis got one a short time ago. it needs all the basics to wake it up (tune, exhaust).... he had a good setup and grattan with it, got to BeaveRun and couldnt get the front end to feel "right" so he didnt run it, even after multiple changes....
Fairly comparable with the new R6 overall. Ran an 848 for 6 days and played with some friends on some new R6's - while some slightly different strengths and weaknesses, a pretty fair fight. Overall impression? Really liked the bike, but it needs a little more top-end ass...
We have! Been 100% reliable and awesome! In fact, it will be up for sale at the end of the month! (and yes, less than 1/2 of what it'd cost for someone to build!) NO EXPENSE SPARED! We ran it in Open GP Twins and 600Superbike in OMRRA and WMRRA. Bike is MORE than competitive..we got 135-137rwhp and over 70ft/lbs. check out our section on this build. We have specs listed, also TONS of pics, and even videos, there are some on leovinceusa.com as well http://edrperformance.com/projects/2008_ducati_848_superbike/ if you want more details, like what all is on it, etc (yes it would cost you OVER $40,000 to build this bike!) just please email me, i dont check pm's often. Only selling cause we build an EXTREME project race bike mainly for fun, and showcase what we can do and our sponsors make for it! our new bike for 2009 will be a :mouthtape thanks ERIC
the bike is a lot of fun! i did great on it at grattan, that was the 4th time on the bike beaver i couldn't get the bike to handle correctly so i ran the 999R next year will be better more seat time
