Finally found a replacement band for my old Ripcurl. Not sure how I was going to feel about the leather replacement but it's not bad.

Still going to hunt around for a original metal band but this will do for now.

I know the watch is nothing special but I've had it for almost 20 years.

Looks surprisingly modern for being 20 years old. What's with the 'heat' on the bezel? Is it a bbq cooking watch?

It's a surf watch so the bezel is used to set how long your heat is.

Well, I did it. Took some 21 pages of this thread and 7 months but I got the Seamaster I have been eyeing for a while. thumbnail_IMG_2144.jpg

Nice, I have the older GMT version of that. Different band.

I need to get it serviced. Should figure out where it is so I can take it in.

Mine needs to be serviced as well, am I best off taking it to an AD (omega flagship store in manhattan) or mail it out?

I'm sure the flagship store does fine workbut it's going to cost $$$

I'm taking it to the Omega store. I got a bad feeling it needs more than an oil change and tire rotation. :(

Orient Mako XL is $129 on mass drop, multiple colors, with free shipping.... Seriously considering it.

I've had a citizen eco drive for years. When it's not in the wrist rotation it can run down, even when stored so the face is up. It only takes a few minutes of sun to wake it back up and get it running right.

    Nice easy to use watches

For some reason I;ve really been digging the base Tag F1 with rubber strap the last few days.

Their Aquaracer "pepsi" GMT is pretty alright as well.

Who do we like for nato straps? I'd like to have a few nylon choices to use on some projects.

    :stupid:

I've got one I wear rarely that is probably 20 years old at this point. Great watch.
