So I meet a couple guys trying to organize a mini track day/race at Atlanta Motorsports Park. Anyone heard about or planning to participate? They have a day on the schedule, 6/25.
I'm planning on going one way or the other.

There is a group on Facebook called amp mini bikes join the group and the info is there, they are still working on some things but it looks promising.
John Daniel McDonald is the guy running it.

Yeah I meet John and TJ at road Atl as well. John is organizing everything and seems pretty cool. He has this on the FB page,
Had a great meeting with the guys over at the kart track today. We officially have a date locked in for our first Mini Bike day with the kart races and that is....

    JUNE 25TH!!!!!!

    Price will be......

    $65 Pre-registration (through motorsportsreg.com)
    or
    $80 at the gate.

Transponders are normally 20 dollars but for this first round, they are not required. Unless you really want to run one.

We are working on the schedule for the day as well as the next race date! Will post as soon as the registration link is up!!! I can't wait to see ya there!!

Sweet! No conflicts with WERA or Herrin.

What did he name it on motorsports reg?
    Do you have his email?
I need to see if kiddo is ok on his insurance.

I will try and get some more info. The only thing I see on motoreg for that day is a carting event. So, I'm guessing it will be run in conjunction?? Not sure. I do not have a direct email, only AMP mini bikes group on Facebook.
I will post what I can find out.

Any input on whether it will be more of a race or a trackday? Not sure I want to grid up to race, but I'd be all in for a day to bang out a bunch of laps.

He said it a trackday in a raceday format. Don't know exactly what that means but we're planning to go.

    Kids are welcome he said!

I believe it will be 15 minute mini sessions rotating with the karta.

Yeah, that was my understanding as well. Trackday.

Trackday, I'd probably be in. At least with the Grom. The XR maybe, but it doesn't have the right tires unless they cover the track with packed clay.

Well I went ahead and registered, http://www.motorsportreg.com
Just do a search for AMP on the 25th. It is being run in conjunction with a cart event so it's a little goofy registering. Just ignore all the cart stuff scroll down and the is a mini bike section.
Hope to see some of you guys out there.

For anyone that missed out on this, it was FUNNNNNNN.

Lots of waiting around but the track time we *did* get was excellent.

They are going to host a race just for bikes soon. I'd encourage everyone to please come out if you can make it. It's a must ride mini track for sure.
