You talking to Razr or everyone else in CA who keep ignoring the fires, earthquakes, floods, mudslides, drought, locust, and other assorted natural and manmade catastrophes out there?

well if the rest of the country would stop sending us their homeless and actually try to help them they wouldn’t hop on freighter trains to the only place they can survive.

also, the (current) homeless problem is a combination of corruption from city council members and ACLU lawsuits. One city council member was recently indicted on federal charges a few months ago for corruption and other money things. He oversaw the districts of skid row and surrounding Boyle heights and downtown. A federal judge recently forced city council members to tour skid row with press cameras following them around to ask them “what the fuck are you doing and where has the 400 million dollars given to fight this gone?” The aclu lawsuits to keep the city from removing trash build ups and encampments is what really fucked things up and the problem spread to other parts of the greater LA area. The police/city have their hands tied behind their back currently.

it’ll take another decade to fix but something has to give. Once all these retards realize that the Democrats who run this shit are NOT on their side.
By the way the homeless numbers were way worse in the 80’s because of the crack epidemic and the massive loss of manufacturing jobs to overseas competitors.

Here’s a little history on the origin of skid row and the “quarantine area” that was purposely set up by the city back in the day.

I'm from California, but have lived in Texas for the last 13-14 years. I love Texas, but for weather and things to do, CA can't be beat. It is also probably the best state to be a motorcycle owner. I just couldn't take the traffic and high cost of living anymore. My best friend still lives out there in Huntington Beach, so I visit regularly. Property tax rates are much lower than Texas, but home values are much higher so generally that is a wash. There is also state income tax, so the overall tax burden is higher.

For the most part, stay out of LA proper and it is really nice. There are pockets of bad areas, but more nice areas to live/work, just be prepared to pay out the nose for it.

Everything outside of very close is a long commute. Rush hour is more like rush 4-6hrs. After college I lived in the San Pedro / Pt Fermin / Ranch Palos Verdes area and worked up by LAX. I commuted on the motorcycle 90% of the time. I went in early before traffic and lane-split most of the way home, so it wasn't terrible.

I do recall one time I left work by LAX a little after lunch and drove to Thousand Oaks to buy another bike. Took about 40min. By time I left to head home is was around 3:30pm. Took me 3.5 hrs to get home. No major accidents, just congestion. Another time we (buddy and I with the girls) all took the touring bikes out on a camping trip. Headed north on the 405 around 10am on a Saturday, traffic was still stop and go on the 405N. Lane splitting on a big bike 2up with camping gear isn't easy....haha

Traffic is way better now that everyone is unemployed and has even less to live for

yup. I live in downtown LA and I work in Rancho Cucamonga. My commute in the mornings is only about 35 minutes from freeway entrance to freeway exit because it’s a reverse commute and there’s not as many people on the roads.

I was watching Kevin Hart's Latest special, No F***ks Given, and it's really funny for 40+ year olds.

It also touched upon how a outside brick oven is the latest celebrity have-to-have item.

Update. 2020 was crazy. I'm still talking to this business owner, but things are vastly different. His whole business approach to sales calls has changed, not a lot of home visits. Their program now is phone interviews and video conferencing. He has updated his interview process to eliminate the people that are unwilling to pay a premium for their services. He's still trying to figure out if there's a place for me there, and I am still somewhat interested.

In-person meetings will come back. People want to be handheld, especially those paying a premium for a product or service.

I had a web conference yesterday for a customer looking at a $50-$75K instrument. My specialist’s internet was choppy. The applications guy had points where his call dropped out completely. It’s incredibly annoying to deal with and we’re all US-based with what should be decent internet.

People paying big bucks don’t want to deal with that shit.

This company relies on in person meetings and sales calls. I think they will be back, and that's where I hope to be. He did say this pandemic has streamlined their customer approval process.
