Advice Required RE: Racing Incident

Assuming you will have to stay off of it for about 6 weeks. I have an iWalk3.0 (peg leg!) that allowed for much greater mobility (ability to carry stuff with loose hands) than crutches with my Tib-Fib broken ankle. If interested, send a PM.

 

Funny! I just sent OP a PM about those. I'd offer mine, but I gave it to a former neighbor who should be just about healed up. I need to get it back from him.

@motion was too cool for one, but they are orders of magnitude better than crutches or scooters.

Well - that’s the reason for my question.

After ~25 years of dealing with adolescents and their behavior, it’s been my experience that “writing them up” ie probation is equivalent to essentially nothing (at least in public education, not sure if that carries over to pro racing).

 

I wish that were the case, but it’s seems as often as not it’s so the admin can say “we wrote them up” and largely little else comes of it.

 

I suspect it means absolutely nothing, and I really don't expect the VCHSS or the AMA will do much either. Maybe KTM will take notice if there is bad press for their sponsored rider, but who knows?

There seems to be little to no recourse in a situation like this. Apparently off-road racing is just a big fucking redneck free for all where anything goes in the woods.

My demographic makes up the bread and butter that keeps these racing organizations alive, but god forbid one of the rank and file should cast aspersions on the holiest of holies, the AA golden boys.

 

Slap them with the medical bills and cite it as their negligence for allowing a known dangerous rider in the race.
