I'm getting ready to buy a 7x12 trailer not V nose. I would like to get a bigger one but its what I can fit. Before I buy it I would like to know if I can fit 3 bikes side by side? If you guys have pics even better. Thanks
We had 3 in a 6x12. Put 2 facing forward and one facing rearward, with the tail between the other two. The more centered they are over the axle the better the trailer will tow. Chuck the rest of the shit in as best you can because it's gonna be tight!
PitBull restraints. 2 in side by side. 1 centered in the back. With a 14' you could get 4 in nose to tail.
I just have to make space for the small rollaway tool box, tires, No-mar hitch mount tire changer and a few storage boxes, plus other msc stuff. Should I just get a V nose 6x12 instead? The deal is that Im probably going to pick it up for about a grand and I cant find any 6x12 for that price. Maybe I will buy it and try it out and if it dont work out just sell it. I think I should be ok as Im putting 3 R6 in the trailer.
The last time I had 3 bikes in a 6x12, by the time I put the rest of the stuff in I hardly needed to tie the bikes down. Then again, I bring a lot of stuff.
I have fit 3 HD Sportsters in a 5x8 trailer along with fuel and tires, etc....needed help closing the door though!
We put all this in a 7'x14'. Hauled from Cincinnati to Miller. 3500 miles. (4) SV's, (1) GSXR 1k, (1) GSXR 600. (12) stands, (10) spare wheels, gear for (6), etc...
I thought the pitbull mount only required 24" of width. Which means you can get 3 across very very close. You'll need to turn the handle bars of each bike to make it work.
You can almost guarantee you'll be over capacity on both the axle and the tires on a single-axle trailer with three full-size motorcycles. In my 6 x 12, I've hauled two full-size racebikes facing forward with a 125GP bike in the middle facing rearward. The extra width of the 7 x 12 should allow you to squeeze a full-size bike in the middle, but it will be tight. And you'll be overweight.
Yep, my trailer has a 1500lb load capacity - it's easy to exceed the load limit with bikes & gear on a single axle trailer
