Meh, let in the Suzuki GSXR750, the Triumph 765 and the MV and see what happens. Yamaha can race or quit, who cares.
Seems like it would make more sense to just have a WSBK Twins class, since most every manufacturer offers a 650 twin.
Not for nothing, but the MA Twins class would suddenly get way more popular with the JC kids if it offered a clear path to a WSBK support class. World Twins or MA Supersport would be viable and attractive choices for the [young] Twins racers.
Although that would be cool, there would be too much of a performance difference between Twins and SBK. Maybe they revise to: 3 cylinder 800, 2 cylinder 1000 and 4 cylinder 750. Pretty much same as SBK used to be from the 80's till 2002.
Just put different weights/rules on the 599cc bikes and 750's. my old gsxr750 made 127whp where my 599cc zx6r and R6 made 15-18 less rwhp on the same dyno...
After watching the baggers ball out and hit Ninja Cup times, maybe they will be legal for next year's JR cup?
Since I have no insider info and no real knowledge about next year, I am going on shear speculation and pure guessing. Superbike - Cam Peterson to M4 to replace Toni JD Beach to Yamaha to replace Cam PJ and Zanotti on Celtic Escalante and Elias on Honos Kawasaki Canepa joins Scholtz at Westby Travis Wyman joins Herrin at Schiebe Stock 1000 Olmeda moves up and stays with the team 600 Paasch stays with Honos Lochoff moves up and stays with Celtic Twins- Doyle moves up with M4 Cody Wyman moves up and stays with Westby
My prediction, zero verification, very little thought put into this SDK to pay for a ride in World Supersport (aim for a top 10) Cam P to Attack (you heard it here first guys), jake moves over to Stambolis side of the garage Zanetti to HSBK (hoping 2 man team retaining PJ) Elias on a Honos zx10rr or the couch (voting couch because he's ready to retire) Escalante to SBK on a Honos Zx10rr (because a SBK IS the best way to launder cash) Paasch on Honos Supersport Doyle to remain with Bartcon in twins, cooper to supersport Altus to find a rider to pay for the stk1000 seat vacated We'd love to see Herrin on the grid but the Scheibe bike is sub par
According to gdub, he spoke to Tom h at Yamaha and their preference is to promote from wishin MA. Also, am I the only one who thinks Cam P should send pj a card and a nice bottle of hooch as I feel the standings and narrative would be a lot different if pj was there for all the rounds
Everyone saying Zanetti and PJ at HSBK/Celtic Ducati....fuck that! Zanetti's gonna be used for development, then they give him the middle finger and get a team going with PJ and Chaz Davies. Davies goes on to win the Superbike championship! You heard it here first!
While I agree the STK1000 championship would have looked ALOT different should PJ have remained on the grid - I don't think CamP owes him anything in that sense. Cam earned that and his pace in the SBK races show that he and that team were ready to fight for the 'ship. Would he have won against the V4R and PJ? I don't know, but it would have been a battle to watch and competitive IMHO.
Man, you're not even that old yet. You're really starting to hit your stride though. The Get off my Lawn is very strong. I'm excited to see your future unfold on these pages.
