Tracks opening or not will have absolutely no effect on that decision, too small a number of people to matter.
Just received an e-mail from N2 saying May 15 track day is cancelled at Pitt Race. Dont know if that will be an issue for Endurance and Sprint races that weekend. That is 2 riders schools cancelled this year so my relicensing efforts are all FUBAR. Everybody stay safe and we will be doing this again soon. We may have to start a keep WERA alive fund so Evelyne and Mongo dont blow a financial gasket!
Yep, everything for that event has been moved to September. Obviously not what we wanted but at least we could move it rather than totally cancel.
MAY 15-17, 2020 Pittsburgh International Race Complex Moved to September 11-13, 2020! Due to the extension of regulations by the State of Pennsylvania and restricting activities in the State N2 and WERA had to move this event to September 11-13, 2020.. “WERA and N2 were looking forward to this event to kick off our joint Endurance Series for 2020 but with all of the restrictions placed by States with regard to the Covid-19 Virus Pandemic we have to look at this event and say it is not feasible. We are happy to be able to give this event a new weekend on September 11-13 and look forward to seeing everyone then. Thank you to the Staff at Pittsburgh International Race Complex for working with us on this and to our partners N2 for all they have done for this event," said Evelyne Clarke, CEO WERA Motorcycle Roadracing. “WERA, N2 and PIRC worked exhaustively to put on this event, but it simply was not possible with the current health emergency regulations in the State of Pennsylvania,” said N2 Partner/COO Jim Curtis. WERA Motorcycle Roadracing is currently working with all the Tracks and looking at all the various state restrictions with regard to our dates scheduled for May and we will update on these events once we have definitive answers. WERA Motorcycle Roadracing is working with all our venues on this and the restrictions they are under and we will keep you posted on all of the May events The WERA office is closed so please communicate via e-mail: [email protected] until we are back in the office. Thank you all for your continued support through this and we are shooting for being back on track ASAP… WERA Motorcycle Roadracing was established in 1973 and is currently co-sanctioning event with AMA and partners with N2 on the National Endurance Series. Given the amount of time it takes to register if no pre-reg is available, will registration open earlier or be available Friday night? I’m sure there is a reason, but removing pre-reg seems like the opposite direction we’d want to go in if we are trying to respect social distancing rules.
Yes we will be doing registration Friday, not sure on tech yet. However, it never takes all that long to get through registration. All the social distancing means is the line is longer in distance, not time... On that note though - membership renewal form is here - http://www.wera.com/pdfs/forms/membrenewal.pdf if you need to renew fill it out and bring it with. Tech form is here - http://www.wera.com/pdfs/forms/spttech.pdf get it filled out and bring it with you. If you're really good you'll fill it out without the event info and make copies for future events... If you never raced with WERA before use this membership form - http://www.wera.com/pdfs/forms/newmember.pdf Now on that note - do NOT print out and bring the entry form. We have to use the multiple part forms at the event for accounting and for me to make sure everyone is in the computer properly. However if you have liberated multiple part forms in the past and have them already at home feel free to use them
Same answer as it has been - we're planning on racing barring any issues with the state or local governments.
Will it look similar to the Tally schedule that's posted for Feb 2020? Not exact of course but just trying to get an idea what the event will look like, I've only raced WERA once
Sean- on your schedule it shows Cycle Jam as being both a nat’l round and a DH weekend. Does that mean vintage will run both days? Just wanna know if I leave that bike at home or not.
