No reason for Honda to develop and release a new production CBR 1000 that will only gather dust on showroom floors. I don’t see them having a competitive bike in WSBK making any difference towards sales etc. Last I heard the warehouse in Chicago still had several hundred non current CBR1000s.
Yeah but 600s outsell 1000s so from a money standpoint it makes sense and especially with bike sales in the crapper
Agreed. I tell people to just watch it without trying to put it in a category. It's just a cool story.
Hell, I'll settle for a standard 1000rr as a daily street scoot if they're selling them for less than the ridiculous $13K+
Got the t-shirt: https://www.badideatshirts.com/i-saw-elvis-he-sat-between-me-and-bigfoot-on-the-ufo-t-shirt And used to ride with Big Foot.... well at least the Jack Links Jerky one.....
They gather dust because they don't win races. Everyone wants the fastest 1/4mile, the highest HP, podium winning bling bling. Honda hasn't done that in a long long time. If they did, people would buy them again.
You wanna sell the last of those hundreds of 1000s? Offer 2k for a club race win accross the US when there are at least 15 finishers per race. And for a bike purchased new within the last 6 months.
I remember buying my 2008 brand new in the crate for 6900 dollars back when they first tried to clear their warehouses. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
I remember the "engine scare fire sale of '08" vividly. Nowadays, on CL of FB marketplace I still see '08s for that price.... Actually, I really liked my '06 once I replaced the HESD until it was time to remove the bodywork...almost as fun as taking apart a tightly wound alarm clock.
