The awards recognize individuals and organizations that excelled in AMA-sanctioned competition and recreational activity in 2017. "The AMA Championship Banquet is one of the most prestigious events in motorcycle racing and riding," said AMA Director of Racing Kevin Crowther. "The racers and organizers honored at this event come from a variety of motorcycle, ATV, competition and recreational backgrounds and are among the country's best. We look forward to spotlighting their hard work each year." AMA members help choose the winners of selected categories, including the coveted AMA Athlete of the Year award. For the TL;DR crowd there are some important points - You need to go to the site once survey monkey fixes their shit and vote. Joe Blasius as Athlete of the Year Grand Championships, Kayla Yaakov for Female Racer of the Year. Oh yeah, got to the banquet too if you won a championship at RRGC or VMD. I'd love to start giving the off road guys a run for their money on turnout. Last year was WAY too light on the roadracing side
And it wouldn't hurt to give Tyler Scott a vote for Youth Racer of the Year, even though his dirt track success is listed and he will have to find some more room for a trophy.
Doh!!!! I am so sorry I missed him, I was scanning for RRGC or VMD or the like after the nominees Absolutely vote for Tyler, he is a truly great kid and racer no matter which discipline he's running!
