http://blog.motorcycle.com/2012/08/...ki-ninja-300-400r-confirms-636cc-ninja-zx-6r/ I am surprised to see Kawasaki go back to the 636cc bike. No Ninja 250 now. Ninja 300 Fuel Injected. That should make the 250 race interesting. I think kawasaki is debuting all the new for 2013 bikes at Times Square NY September 13th.
With a displacement limit in the rulebook of 250cc it won't have any effect on racing 250s. Guess the idea is to make it a better streetbike.
I give it a month before I'm getting requests to bump the displacement. Immediately followed by everyone else wanted to bore theirs out especially the older ones...
so that means the zed x 6 wouldn't be allowed in supersport any longer...wonder if that makes business sense, but they know more than I do anyway...including about using jb weld to solve issues
Aren't the 636s very popular with stuntas? Maybe they are bringing it back because the 636s are more popular than the current model in a lot of markets.
636's are SS legal for WERA and CCS. (and presumably they'd have a 599 cc for homologation for national and international series as they did from 03-06)
"Appearing on the EPA’s spreadsheet doesn’t necessarily mean these models will be introduced to the U.S. market however. The Kawasaki Ninja 400R was included in a similar document for 2012 but was never introduced."
Keep the 250cc limit! Then I will not have to ever upgrade if they discontinue the 250, and it will keep it's race bike value!
Hope the new 636 is better than my '05. It wasn't the hot ticket for the 600 class. BTW: Honda is making their 250 a 350...
Time to email Takegawa and tell them to make a bore up high comp piston for the baby blade instead of just a high comp stock bore...
