Dyno charts on my dyno. My dyno reads about 2-3% lower than most other Dynojet dynos. Some even read 5% higher than mine.
Makes good power derestricted, sucks you have to do that though. What's the schedule on pulling the engine apart?
if you log right back in, all that you wrote should be saved and you should be redirected back to your written post. nice thread by the way. are you going to build a SS motor?
Yeah. I will be building a SS motor. I should be tearing the motor down by the end of the week! I'll get some great photos of that.
Ok did a motor removal & complete teardown today. Did the whole thing on video cam. Took me 45min to remove the engine on the table. Then I did a complete teardown on the whole motor. I'm going to use the video & cut out clips from that to post photos! I'll be loading up some photos. Anything in specific your looking for?
I don't think there's all that many that are being sent back. Not too many hit the dealers this early. I think Aprilia built the motors...LMAO
Yeah they are all going back for sure. I'm not sure but I working on keeping mine as I am a racer. My bike is pretty prepped for racing. Yeah there is a flaw with it. Its unfortunate for them. Hope they can get this cleared up ASAP.
Speed, Reading between the lines, if I were to guess that blue dots were matched with green ones, etc. would I be close?
Here this is what I'll say. Its in the engine. It has nothing to do with the design of the new ZX10R and that its a failure in anyway. Its like Kawasaki said. Its a quality control issue. It could literally happen on any engine if the quality was bad. Trust me if you have one it needs to be fixed or returned for a new engine if your a street guy or engine part if your a mechanic / racer like me. I'll find out tomorrow what's going to happen with my stuff. I just don't want to be the one who breaks the news to the world. Kawasaki has been great to me and I'll be honest Kawasaki is doing a great thing by resolving this "issue" unlike xyz company. I've seen the same problem in their engines and they didn't do shit about it. So good on Kawi. I can't wait to get mine on the track.
So..."xyz company" you actually mean kawi with the 07-08 ZX6R...where they completely denied any issues with the valvetrain? but if you called, they would fix it?
FYI. I have well over 25-30 ZX6R engines in race bikes. I have never seen 1 single valve train failure in any of them. Just because you had a problem doesn't mean everyone is going to have the same issue. They build thousands of motors. Yours might have been one out of a few that had issues. Apparently there was a bad valve cover gasket on that motor too. I've never had one problem with that either. Sorry you had an issue with yours. This current issue is a problem that is probably going to occur with all of them. Kawasaki is making sure this bike lives up to the marketing hype that has been delivered in the past several months.
