Beauty of the 490 is pretty much everything is understressed compared to stock. The crank sees FAR lower revs than it used to, the top end isn't winding any further than stock and putting up with less HP than stock. The only real stress point I've seen so far is the clutch, if running the Yoyo mine goes 10 to 15 hours between clutch stack replacements. Pretty low cost maint all things considered.
Thanks Kurlon, that pretty much sums it up on the motor, and it does run with the Slipper Clutch! I have no idea what the with of the bike is, but its pretty lean. It could have some more taken off the subframe, and maybe some off the lower engine cradles, but over all its pretty well stripped.
Yes it is! The bike has a Speedwerks 17" SV rear conversion on it, and the spare set with rains also is the SV. Fronts are both stock 400 17" and both have new rotors
Hi... very interested and would like as many details/info as possible. I have a shipper. Thx. Dave. Pls email [email protected]
LOL, my interest level just went up. Was riding a borrowed fzr at the GNF, the "no starter" business is "no fun".
I build bikes to be easy to maintain at the track, less hassle ... less stress. As a side note, it's time to rebuild the carbs. The fuel screws are leaking, so that's an easy fix, but I bought the kits to do all the seals.
