Imported from Japan, a very rare bike.

The only registered, street legal KR-1 in Canada.
250 cc twin cylinder 2 stroke motor. Liquid cooled. Oil injected. Servo controlled exhaust valves.
    6 speed transmission.
    A strong running bike.
Was the fastest, lightest 250cc when compared to the NSR, TZR and RGV. 55 rear wheel horsepower, 123 kgs and 139 mph top speed.

New tires, carbs have been cleaned. New battery. Completely stock condition.

    $4500 CDN

This bike was for sale a couple of months ago onthe VRRA. I assume you bought it there?

Have you done anything to it? 4500 is a considerable price jump from what it was advertised for earlier this summer...

There's nothing wrong with a little arbitrage. If he bought it at market value and is trying to sell it for above market value then that's his problem. If he bought it below market value and is selling at market value then kudos to him.

The bike is now street legal and officially imported and registered in Ontario. Much paperwork and time was put into it. Looking to sell to get something that I won't feel guilty thrashing on.

They're cheap in Japan. I see them going for $800~$1600 over there. You just have to manage the shipping. Mine needs paint. :D

    It's in Canada. ;)

FWIW, someone was selling one last year that looked the business that had orange race track bodywork (it was also in Canada).

    c'mon now.
that is a broad stroke of the pen....
we are not in Japan and shipping is pricy for one bike plus who do you know there that will arrange customs/ brokers/deception, etc.?
Canada?ever had customs run you through the ringer?
hey- the best to you. but don't make it all out to be a piece o cake.

when is the last time you saw a tandem KR250 on U.S. soil?

i was well into the grey bike importing scene for several years and it IS NOT a simple matter...and NOW post 9/11. good luck.

I didn't say importing was going to be easy Mook, I just said they were inexpensive in Japan.

There was a guy two years ago asking me to sell mine to him. He found a blue S model and bought it. Then a year later he was offering to sell it to me. So there's at least three in the US.
