Perhaps if you've ever been to the Dallas area, you saw the landmark Reunion Tower with the iconic ball on top. Putting our solar system into scale, with that ball being scaled to the sun, here's where the inner rocky planets' orbits would be, on average. Here's the gas giants and Pluto. Because back in my day, Pluto was a gahtdamn planet!! The Proxima Centauri system is halfway to the moon on this scale.

Thanks for bumping this again! I need to find the .kmz I made in the post above yours. We bought some acreage in Oklahoma a few years ago, I want to see how it compares with Pluto's orbit. EDIT: Found it. Our gate is 3.14 miles from Pluto's average orbit, but well within its apogee. (97.77 miles from Reunion Tower)
