Sprinter low roof. Done. I’m getting 20-22mpg with my high roof, roof rack and light bar. A low roof version with no extra crap on the roof should be right there. And they drive great.

Since the hitch weight is the main issue, would a light trailer work? Then you could go with the Pacifica. It has plenty of power to tow a single bike.

don't know anything about vans, but these guys are known to do good work on custom van builds. Long time FTR guys (Florida trail rider offroad racing).

Don't want to deal with any trailer, or just the typical enclosed trailer?

A small, fuel efficient vehicle and a harbor freight trailer is a great combo.

If you’re buying an SUV and you don’t go body on frame… just don’t bother!

For storage purposes, I need something self contained and dont want to deal with a trailer in general. Need the bike inside the van or secured on a tow mount.

Can they handle 500 lbs on a hitch?

500# tongue on factory hitch. These things are very capable little vans and I hit 29.6mpg bouncing from town to town to town (60 miles) yesterday.
Not enough room for bike and air mattress though.

Do you have any photos of the Metris with a bike in it?

Extremely practical set up. Pull it with a dodge pro master cargo van. Between the van and this front cargo deck you are all set,
    The camper weighs 1500 lbs.
the roof holds 500 and the deck another 1500. 55” x 78” bed, heat /ac, hot exterior shower, stove, microwave, big fridge. Sink. Awning. Propane/battery power. 30 amp plug in power.

Promaster is the perfect van except for 2 little problems: Dodge and Fiat

I own both. The Fiat has 85k miles on it. I’m on my 2nd set of tires and I put a clutch in it at 84k miles. Depending on gas prices, I put $20-30 of gas in it per month and I average 41 mpg. Oh, and I have to change the oil once a year. It’s a business vehicle and it paid for itself the first year I owned it.
The Promaster has 55k miles on it and has a better record except mileage. I tow heavy equipment around the east coast with it. ownership and warranty on both couldn’t be better unless I got a free blowjob with oil changes.

Tell me about the bad experiences you’ve had owning both.
