That is the clutch Lever pivot bolt. It's organic. It has electrolytes too. Out for a ride the clutch starts being weird. I pull over the bike stalls in gear. I notice the slop in clutch feel as the bolt falls completely out. No tools to take something off and use. Not even an Allen wrench to maybe hang in there as a pivot. No I don't have with me. What to do. Look around, look around grab a stick, jam it in there. Try it. It seems ok. Grab some spares just in case. Over 200 shifts later I made it home. Nature>Chinese levers Try it, it may work. Peace
Tried to edit.. The other was looser than I like also. So I'll own it. Not something I usually check. (Until now)
You win the interwebs today! Oh, and when you go to sell the bike you can say you have so many spares it's like they grew on trees
I was on a daytrip on my Road King last year, when the Heim joint on the shifter linkage blew apart while making an upshift. I was able to cobble it back together with my shoelaces and make it back to the cabin. As we were on vacation in VT with no nearby dealer, I rode it a few more times with this setup. The fix held up very well. Desperation breeds all kinds of creativity.
It was an Inner receiver sleeve that fell out. Threaded on the inside and not made out of element 115. I should have been more precise.
