Apparently they are going to grid the top 9 riders for races 2s this season based on their fastest single lap time from race 1. This is definitely a new idea to me. Just curious what the Beeb thinks. BSB does (or at least did) something similar on their race weekends. It gave anyone who had a crap qualifying OR was having a crap race 1 the chance to salvage their weekend by putting in a fast lap on race rubber. It didn't happen very often, but when it did, it made things interesting.
So if the championship leader gets torpedoed in turn one, he gets rewarded with a shitty grid position? This should add a bit of drama.
