I think the problem for Yamaha is that the regulations change in either 2027, and they’re loathe to commit to a V4 program until they know what the engine configuration will be. Especially with Ducati calling for a downsizing of engines.
Honda has a V4 and they have the same problem as Yamaha, rear tire spinning up coming out of the corner and losing drive so I’m not sure why a V4 would help them?
2024 Was the original announcement but not a peep I've found recently. Makes me wonder how anyone can test their 2024 engines without having the new fuel on hand. The other thread about fuel composition is interesting but this new less dinosaur content fuel has me very curious what they are building now, if different in material ways.
