@eggfooyoung generation. We forgive them. You are a honorary fiftysomething. Have you tried Life in Pieces? It wasn't on long enough to get stale.
Before Monty Python there was a show called Doctor In The House. There were a few Pythons in it. There were some edgy lines for the day. "I knew a girl named Virginia. They called her Virgin for short but not for long."
thats the irony of it now... one could now subscribe to various services to watch the shows entire library at their leisure. Also at the same time you can listen to podcasts about the background of how the casting and production went. Then you can get insights from cast members which makes it even more interesting to watch. When many of those shows aired prime time... you either caught it when it aired or you hoped they would rerun. Which required access to a TV guide...lol. I do remember being in college when Seinfeld aired... then trying to explain to my friends how funny it was. Michael Richards cracked me up in Transylvania 6500. A movie that was 90 or so minutes of agony except for a few funny scenes. The Cars & Coffee show Jerry did was pretty funny. There is so much content available "on demand" these days you can really get lost in the weeds doing deep dives into actors/directors/writers bodies of work.
I’m with Wolfe here. Got nothing for Monty. Seinfeld sucked more than I thought anything could ever suck. Larry David and Jerry have no talent. And if you think t was great, you think Bud Light and Coors light have flavor. Great Comedy. Here ya go. All in the Family Sanford and Son The Jeffersons MASH first 3 seasons. Then Alan Alda’s head got too big. Cheers Night Court LaVern and Shirley Happy Days Barney Miller Threes Company Most recent hit. big Bang Theory. Melissa Raush is one gorgeous Munchkin. And Jim Parsons made the right call to end it where he did. It was just beginning to feel a little stale. There is no comedy on Network TV now. They’re all afraid of offending someone. Which is the whole point of comedy.
