The best breakfast cereal is grits (old-fashioned 20-minute grits, not that instant 5-minute crap)....with a healthy dollop of butter, more than a smidgen of salt and pepper - on top of an over-easy egg.
Oatmeal, the real kind, not instant with butter, brown sugar and a large tablespoon of peanut butter.
My mom used to make grits and throw them in ring molds on a hot bacon fat soaked black pan and brown both sides but leave the middle creamy. Smother in butter and eat with bacon and over easy eggs.
Hot old fashioned oatmeal with brown sugar, milk and dab of butter. Wheaties ( can't believe this isn't more popular) with sugar sprinkled on top. I try not to think of Bruce on the front of the cereal box lol Oh that's right he is a she now
