Looking to buy a commercial zero turn to use at home. Toro 4000 series and Spartan SRT mowers are what I'm looking at. Seems like all these manufactures use the same engines, is it all the same crap just a different color?
Just got 52 inch Scag with fuel injected Kohler. Built like a tank. Sixteen year old Toro with Kawasaki engine still going strong and being used.
I just had to completely redo the engine on my mower because the decompression “lever” blew apart inside it. Briggs&Stratton garbage. Next one will be only a Honda or Kawi, this motor has maaaaybe 40 hrs on it. Head was caked in oil because the valve cover was just RTV, couldn’t even be bothered to put a gasket on. Just garbage.
Search the topic, as it has come up several times. There are tons of great info in those threads. This one is already filling with bullshit.
Parents have an Xmark for aporx 10 years and cut 5 acres weekly. It's been problem free and great. I picked up a Gravley Pro Turn 60" three years ago and it's been bombproof so far but I only cut aprox 2.5 acres. Most every lawn service I see has either the Xmark or Gravley around here Just get the Kawasaki motor regardless of what you get.
8 Acres every two weeks , Deere 920M and Husky MZ61 and both have been great and trouble free for 6 years give or take .
Bought a used Ariens 52” when I moved to this place. Cutting almost two acres. it was about 10 years old, 8 years ago. briggs v twin, manufactured deck. Blades, oil changes, two PTO switches, PTO clutch (it’s what was burning up the switches) and a bearing or two. overall love the lil thing. I don’t understand the Briggs hate. like everything else here, nuke it from orbit or don’t even bother. Better be going to pick up that commercial grade toy with a f350 and a 5th wheel hauler or don’t even try.
I did and the last thread was from 2020, I was hoping for some big change in grass cutting technology since then.
