Meh, I ran the shit out of a pair of JD Liquidators back in 78-82 with no problems.

Sure. I would think your first hand case study research would be top notch.

    LOL!

I don’t see how gear oil could ever be forced out through a cable. There is no cable that directly enters the primary.

Yes, so it would have to be trans oil.

    Cooter! Sarcasm level: Maximum

I don't think your tire would care what type of oil it is.

It has been my experience that tires don't care what kind of oil they slip in.
The clean-up crew might care but the tires don't give a diddly-damn.

As far as Kyle goes, he's pretty dedicated, he somehow tracked me down weeks after he had a big get-off in my corner to ask me if I knew why he crashed. Guys have looked me up at the track for that kind of info but nobody ever got in touch with me at home.
    He takes it seriously.

    This DID make me LOL!

I feel for Kyle, but MA had to do SOMETHING. Or else all of the talk about the bagger class will become talk about oil leaks.

What Patricia said that bears repeating- privateer teams can't recover from a 'simple' crash like the factory teams can. There are tons of one off and expensive parts to make these bikes go around the track. Crashing one can be a season ender. This is what happened to my buddy Robert Fisher- aftermarket transmission locked up and caused a crash during testing. Followed by another at Road Atlanta (rider error) and bang- program was instantly over.

That same weekend, we were pitted across from HD. They changed engines EVERY SESSION. They are a factory who wants to win, and they are at an inherent disadvantage against the liquid cooled Indian. They are throwing everything at it, sometimes shit breaks. Sucks for all involved.

That is abhorrent. I would love to see an endurance round :)

I know jack about Hardleys, but is that point "submerged" in transmission oil?

If so how would it ever get pressurized enough to work it's way all the way up to to the clutch perch? Heat/expansion?
LOL (for real, not a mental disorder)
