I'd probably go to Thaîland for surgery like that. They have top tier hand surgeons with much lower costs. Plus : it's Thailand !

Anyone in Chicago area who reads or needs this bumped, Dr Fernandez at Rush Ortho is fantastic. Recommended to me at RA by a racer and it was spot on.

    OK, I'll bite.

Michael Keith at Metro General in Cleveland is, in my opinion, one of the best Hand Surgeons in the world.
Jack Wilbur, at the same hospital, is one of the best Orthopedic Traumatologists in the world.
I have never scrubbed with anyone better than these 2.
I am grateful for everything they taught me.
Amazing intellects, amazing hands, amazing teachers.

The rest of us are mere Uccios.

I was able to find one recommended by flight crew so I went and checked him out. He is close to me and seemed to really know his stuff. We are trying rehab but he let me know if he has to do corrective surgery it’s gonna be extensive and down time of a yr. He knew right away what was wrong. My gut feels confident with him. Thanks for answering. I gotta keep it close to home as I have multiple specialists things going on at once.

Maybe PM @Steeltoe if you are not comfortable with sharing the doc's name publicly?

A good PT is key too for getting range of motion back. Usually a good Dr will have one lined up and insist of follow up reports.

https://emergeortho.com/providers/william-m-gramig-iii-md/ he is the best there is, I have used him on several occassions and I know there are a couple of guys on here that have used him for Arm pump.... He was the only one that would fix my trigger finger with just a local shot and not put me under, he did it in his office in 20 minutes

That’s what they have me doing now at a PT place that is for Hands. I’m praying the PT works because he told me if he has to do corrective surgery it will be extensive and at least a yr down recovery. I don’t wanna be set back that long. I’ve been fighting hard for a year now on medical. I need my life back. It’s been one thing after the other for 5 years now. Straight up of life stuff without a chance to catch a breath in between. I need a serious break. I still have my R6 and I’m determined to get back on that thing. Even if it’s just to ride it around my condo parking lot. I need some two wheel therapy. Hopefully fingers crossed this PT corrects the issues.

Just read the link. Might be worth a flight for a second opinion if PT doesn’t work

Well wish me luck. 6weeks pt and it’s still messed up so my only hope is the extensive surgery and he told me it’s a 70 percent Success rate. It’s my only shot which leaves my career on the line. Failure is not an option.

Good luck! I start Ortho the 21st. Busted it July 11th. Still wearing a wrap sometimes but out of the brace.

Best wishes. On the bright side, 70% is not terrible odds.
