Right before Suzuka 8H. Japanese fans will not be thrilled. Wonder what Yoshimura Japan will do next?
Did Suzuki announce they are quitting Japan Superbikes? I get quitting motogp and totally get quitting EWC racing. Japanese and US Superbikes? Not so much.
I'm in the same boat, I almost bought an Ape a couple of years ago. The only thing holding me back is having a dealer close enough to me. 3 hours one way isn't appealing. Ape needs to work on their dealer network.
On my third V4 Aprilia. Have had a 2015 RSV4, a 2018 RSV4 and now a 2012 Tuono. Rode them about 20,000 miles combined on the street and the track with no major problems. I just do regular maintenance, keep them clean and enjoy riding them. I do not recommend doing any major engine mods to them but a pipe and dyno tune is no problem. Just insure you use the Aprilia race ecu.
20k between three bikes? Did any of them get to a major service? Word on the Japanese interwebs is Yoshimura Japan with Yamaha moving forward.
Mike Godin put the pipe and dyno tuned the 2015 and also did a major service on the same bike at around 10,000 miles after it had been used for both hard street and track riding at VIR and Roebling Road so it had its throttle cables stretched. The 2018 was sold to a friend of mine who uses it on the track only. I am sure he will have it serviced at the end of the year. The 21 Tuono Factory is my retirement bike and only has a little over 1100 miles on it. I decided at 67 with a surgically repaired left knee and a left hip replacement that it might be a good thing to walk away from the track while I still could. Turn 1 and 7 at VIR and Turns 1 and 9 at Roebling are not very forgiving.
