I had a hot date tonight with Miss Gracie! She’s going to make a great companion once she’s in the clear, medically. Her backstory, while horrific, isn’t unlike the others. Read her story here: https://www.ksdk.com/amp/article/li...s-day/63-da24fd15-1463-4a9e-8b56-6facc9b22444 I think she likes me!
I lost my Golden of almost 14 years this past December. It's was the most amazing relationship I've ever had, K9 or human. Some of you might remember Maggie from the track, always with me and Nic, always had a ball in her mouth. She greeted everyone and kept the kids occupied. She passed in her favorite place, the passenger seat of my car. She was all I had left I got covid a week after and the whole month of January I just couldn't get out of bed. I didn't care if I woke up or not. I then went to a local humane society and just hung out. That's what turned me around. They saved me. I now have a completely awesome fielding Golden Retriever pup. I really don't do much else with my time. I'm all for her. You're a Man in my book for doing what you do. My new pup, MJ, (Maggie Junior) will hopefully be a great search and rescue dog someday. I hope to be a great handler.
That’s awesome! MJ is lucky to have you. We lost a Golden mix a few years ago, Miss Elsa. She was such a loving dog. She was spayed when we got her, but she definitely “mothered” our other dogs; her maternal instincts were strong.
My cat just sent in a few bucks for her fellow four pawed friends. She had her 11th birthday a few months ago.
