Average Suburban towing capacity isn't much higher than a Mazda. Couldn't dump my old burban fast enough. What a horrid vehicle to tow even my old 8.5x20 trailer. Love my Mazda. Probably the best $3k car I've ever had. Does everything I need it to, great shifting 5 speed transmission, easy on gas, and probably one of the most logical and easiest chassis to do basic maintenance on. You can protect your ego behind the disguise of driving a "nicer" vehicle...I like having a smaller gas bill.
Ha set up properly? Like 12" wheels, 2 wheel drive, lowered, full aero, no side mirrors, full interior gut and coasting downhill for an entire tank sure. 27mpg out a normal full size diesel truck is not happening sorry.
Well I admit I don’t know much about Mazdas, but I’ll tell you that Mazdas won’t carry two people and one dog on the highway.
Yet another comparison of someone using a lower MPG to justify the possibility of the higher MPG. Like, I know racers are inheriently dumb by nature, but some of y'all are really shooting for King Potato status.
I'm just glad you're acknowledging your pointless MPG statement from before and finally at the stage of rebuttaling with sarcasm.
I disagree only because I had one in a standard cab 6 speed 03 and it was a tank. Not a day goes by that I don't miss that truck. Should have kept it, but they gave me more for trade in then I paid for it and it was a deal I couldn't refuse. Now I have a Duramax and I'll never own another.
Can we talk old trucks for a second here? For the sake of argument validity, let's say one of the options for deleting DPF / DEF is that of buying an older vehicle. So, pre-DEF / DPF, EGR, whatever. Ford's 7.3PS, like the one in my '02 F350, have a good rep, but I have no idea of any internal mods wanted/needed. Just cleaning up (delete) its EGR would prolly make it happy. What other things outside of a plug-in like HT and less restrictive intake/exhaust can be done to it? What's new? You got anything Critter? Dodge and Chevy, I don't know what they had in the "pre-" days so, don't know how desirable they are.
We have 2 7.3s. They are dog slow stock, but after a little work, they're really good trucks. The only thing I miss from the new trucks is how quiet they interiors on the new ones are. I just built a list of things to look at for Critter. As soon as I can, we're supposed to start messing with his. Edge programmer Has guages built in. I like the data it gives me, and the tunes are good to pep it up a little, and makes the transmission feel good. https://www.edgeproducts.com/products/in-cabin_tuners/evolution_cs2/parts/15001-1 Intake air filter https://afepower.com/afe-power-54-10192-magnum-force-stage-2-pro-5r-cold-air-intake-system Pre Filter for the air filter https://afepower.com/afe-power-28-10043-magnum-shield-pre-filters I have MRBP exhausts It's not stainless, but I haven't had any problems with them rusting or the muffle going bad in several hundred thousand miles. 4" downpipe and 4" out. Oh sweetie, it must be tiring to try so hard to get under my skin. What was that phrase Mad Brad used? Oh yeah. Dance, puppet. Hey, can I call on you to testify when I sue Chrysler for selling me two trucks that don’t exist? I really think I have a shot with your unimpeachable testimony.
Oh, I get in 10-10.5 towing at the speed limit. 65mph seems to be the magic aero number. Below that, it goes up. I'm seem mid 12's in Fl. with the dually, 24' trailer, extra height around 22k total truck/trailer. I don't drive it without the trailer much, 17 ish is about the unloaded numbers. 4.10 rear end kills MPG at speed, but makes it nice to tow heavy with. I did go to single shot injectors on the dually, but not the 4wd. With the prices on new trucks, I'll keep these going for a while. Motors are $4500, trans are $2500.Property taxes are low.
I see we're still stuck on my caveated reply about the years when Ram considered them "HO", but I suppose you'll keep on glossing over that, along with glossing over your totally irrelveant MPG comparison that led you in the butthurt position you're in now. Keep replying about how not mad you are about your own ignorance
Caveated reply? “I don’t know shit about fuck, but I’m gonna tell you what’s what and when challenged I’m going to go fuller retard, and bounce it off the red limiter!” That caveated reply? Hey puppet, how ‘bout a little two-stepping?
I had a old 77 Chrysler Cordoba that had a 400-4bl with a factory "lean burn" computer system on the air filter!!! (Great place to set a computer... right on top of a hot big block engine) thing would randomly kill all power to the car for a few seconds when too hot... but the mechanical fuel pump kept pumping... computer would fire back up and "BOOM!!!" Massive backfire that more than once completely destroyed the muffler.
"I lack reading comprehension, so I'm going to reply with a MPG figure that is within 2MPG of what you just stated you got with your truck" All because you't read
