Getting near the end of this project, need to figure out clutch situation. I’m not really a car guy, this is my first car build and first motor swap. It’s going into a Jeep YJ, but think T-bucket roadster not rock crawler.

    6.0 LS out of a 2500 truck
    T-56 out of an 02 F-body.

Can I just run an LS-7 clutch kit with a Vette flywheel? That’s what I’m reading, but this stuff is pretty foreign to me still. I already have the correct bellhousing and the motor/trans are installed, driveshaft is in, rear end is done. Engine management and wiring is done.
This is pretty much my last step. Just don’t wanna buy twice.

No help but one of the cooler LS swaps I've heard of. I wanna BRZ, FRS or GT86 even if they're a common swap.

Yup. Gonna piss off every Jeep purist, and every hotrod purist. Love it.

I’ve thought about that idea with a CJ2a and a 4AG with dual Webers

Wouldn’t you have wanted to put the clutch in before bolting the motor and tranny together?

I had to make motor mounts, a trans crossmember, exhaust, etc. made sense to bolt it together and get it in the car so I could get all that other stuff done. I knew the motor had to come back out anyway to weld and smooth some firewall stuff and re gasket some motor stuff.

sorry skipped the whole read but yes you can use the Vette clutch and flywheel. hit me up and i can give you the LUK part number that has flywheel included in clutch setup. If you are going down that road do yourself a favor and get at least a 3/4 piston bore size for master so you wont have clutch issues.
F body T 56 have issues that once addressed work really well.
Have any question just PM me. be happy to help you get the right parts 1st time.
Been putting T56 in cars since 1999 and doing conversions.

Yes you can. I swapped a 6.2L out of Escalade with an 02 Fbody T56 and I used the Z06 clutch and it works great.

bahhhahhhahah thats worth more than cars these days.
And the drivability on most of the aftermarket clutches are horrible.
Under 700 Hp we run the Zo6 Clutch kit. after that we run the dual clutch from later model vettes and camaro.
Id rather smoke a clutch than destroy the drivetrain.
After they start running in 9s we end up with and automatic with trans brake..
But im a standard guy All the way 78 El camino T56 built in 1999
Current project is 83 4 Dr Caprice with T56 and 6.2 LS with Vette suspension.

Get an adjustable master cylinder and remote bleeder while you're at it, you'll thank me later.

My stock master worked fine, but the remote bleeder is a life saver, can't recommend enough.
