Yeah there are probably many...but there are maybe one or two that just put me "in the seat" in my mind. Mine has nothing to do with riding at all...whenever I hear it or play it I am magically transported to my bike for 3 minutes and its glorious. Brick England. Pet Shop Boys Yeah I know....so what
I can associate most music with riding, so I'm having a hard time answering. But, in college I did a little autocross and liked to get super hyped before my runs. My two hype tracks were: 1) Deftones - Engine No. 9 2) Metallica - Battery
I don’t ride anywhere where I can hear music but listened to tool before every race of my life and it always puts me in that mindset.
I used to listen to metal before fights, but I never wanted to get fired up to race. I'm usually still half asleep at first call. Most adventures on the road start with Chris Stapleton's "Traveler" jamming in my helmet.
I had a boo boo on my street bike a few years back while The Doobie Brothers "Clear as the Driven Snow" was playing on my phone, right during the chorus "I keep rollin', I keep rollin', I keep rollin, and I can't stop, I keep rollin', and I can't stop, and it's drivin' me outta my mind"
Yo, I know yall gonna make fun of me. Its a back road song, not a track song, on the track no music. I know its a country song, and I know it has nothing to do with riding, but when I was younger, enjoing the old back mountain roads in VA, and NC. Good Directions and Turnip Greens - Billy Currington. If you dare listen to that, just imagine riding through the mountains of VA/NC and when you see stands on the side of the road selling corn, or you stop for lunch and the sweetest old lady serves you the best pie and tea. Hell yea, heaven.
Before football games... Rage against the machine. I tried once to pump me up before the track, and nope, I personally need to be clear and level headed, no extra adrelinine.
Youtube - Middle class rut - busy bein' born video "we all just race around' 'give it back or i'll take it' 'sacrifice to feel like i'm alive' 'at least i'll die with a name.......i aint dead yet!!!'
"Going the Distance" by Cake. Car, bike, truck...doesn't matter. One of these days that song is going to get me ticketed or arrested.
The sound of the engine is music to my ears... unless it blows up. I can't listen to music while riding. It takes away from the experience for me. But if I had to choose a song it would probably be Rob Zombie / Dragula
