So I’ve got a Frankenstein FZR 400 that has R1 forks and triple tree mounted on a 1989 FZR 400 frame, looking for a steering damper option. Any ideas?

    Thanks

not familiar with that vintage yamaha but there are a few universal piston kits

just an example. The older GSXR ones that mount on the lower triple are not too terrible to adapt.
If you wanted a rotary unit like the scotts or GPR... the units themselves can be have for $100ish or so. The mounting brackets arent terribly complicated.

Try Orient Express, they sell a line of linear dampers in multiple length which may suit your needs. I believe they are branded as K-Tech but possibly made by someone else.
