One just sold yesterday on Bring a Trailer for $52,000!!

Another was just listed today, has 6 days left on the auction, and is bid to $30,000!!

That was RC30 money only a few years ago.

I really hate that site. Bravo to the people that get stupid money for their 1982 Celica with 80K miles but it's just moronic what some normal ass shit goes for.

edit: I still check the site every day:D

The winning bidder of the $52k bike did comment after he won the auction. He says that "...memories are expensive!"

meh... even with loads of loot thrown at them they were still dog slow. Didnt they retail for like $8500?

I think you missed the point back in the day. It was 50 pounds lighter than 750s of that era, nevermind 1000s.

Didnt miss the point... remember well how mags swooned all over it. Even with the weight advantage it was still slow (in terms of trap speed)

How are you talking to me about trap speeds, and saying in the same breath that you didn't miss the point?

I owned a 900RR and a 929. The 900RR had loads of character, while the 929 was just bland. My son took his WERA race school on that 900. I still keep my eyes open for a decent one, but I'm not paying more than $5K for it.

um because Ive ridden a few at a dragstrip & street races??
Even one with an overbore and nitrous.
    (which couldnt trap over 145mph)
The 900s provided a good powerplant to shove into the F3s of the same vintage.

Cool looking bike and you could get away from most 600s on the straights but push on the rider and the front would tuck.

really, one of the best looking bikes ever but the front end was designed by a crazy man.
