The magic ingredient in Yamaha's carb cleaner: EGBE, AKA "Ethylene glycol mono-butyl ether" - used in lots of other industries, especially printing, such as "Press wash". VERY good stuff...

There is of course an effective substitute for Yamaha dip, I believe they call it fuel injection. :D

    Bump.

Anybody found a replacement for the Yamaha dip? I need something to mix in my ultrasonic cleaner to clean a few Z50r carbs. The Yamaha stuff was amazing. Would have bought a case if I'd have known....

I've been using pure Pine-Sol with good effect. It does darken the aluminum a bit, but that can be cleaned up if you are worried about it.

Simple Green pro - the purple stuff from Home Depot. 3:1 water/SGP is the thing for an ultrasonic.

    No darkening/ no downside

You know the stuff they use to dissolve bodies in barrels for the cartel? I bet that would work pretty good.
