At the pro level best case they make eight passes an event, four rounds of qualifying, four rounds of eliminations. Not counting burnouts and staging they race for less than a minute all weekend.

When Kenny Bernstein retired Budweiser figured out what they'd paid him over the years per hour of actual racing. Don't remember the number but it was several million.

The actual time to race isn’t what costs $$$. And, the actual time in seat is what it is. Imagine being strapped into the violence of a Top Fuel/Funny car for 30 minutes at a time.… that’s 450 runs. Death becomes them…all of them.

I’m talking about local and regional level. All night sitting around for 3 passes.

Just call it a hostile environment, no need for the motorsports or business modifiers.
